Maddison Rose Hunter, born in 1995, is a multidisciplinary artist operating between Brisbane and the Sunshine Coast. Maddison’s work explores science fiction, organic life, and technology. Her art offers a contemplative journey that often prompts viewers to seek out deeper meanings rather than presenting straightforward narratives.

Maddison immerses herself in her creative process, meticulously observing and documenting the nuances of colours, textures, surfaces, values, and forms. Her approach to art is reflective of her fascination with existence and perception. She expresses a desire to explore alternate realities and life forms, challenging the audience to consider perspectives beyond their own.

“I like to imagine other realities and forms of life outside of our perception. I often ponder my existence and how strange everything seems; everything we know is formed from a human’s perspective, and this fascinates me. I like to create other worlds to step into; some might find it refreshing, some may find it uncomfortable. I believe the process is as important and sometimes greater than the outcome. I enjoy exploring multiple mediums and observing how they each naturally interconnect.”

Maddison’s work invites the audience on a journey through the imaginative landscapes she creates, challenging preconceptions while encouraging a reflective experience.
