    Soft Sensory

    ‘Soft Sensory’ explores the nature of existence, the beginning of life and the end. Although these concepts are heavy by nature, my intention is for this work to serve as a gentle reminder of the fragility and value of life itself. By reflecting on this, I hope to encourage viewers to devote more time to the pursuits that inspire passion and bring genuine moments of happiness.

    By compiling footage of natural environments and layering it with microscopic imagery, I wanted to convey the intricate layers of life, its depth, emotion, intensity, interconnectedness, and impermanence.

    In an era where digital connectivity is at its peak, we often find ourselves increasingly disconnected in our daily lives. Through this work, I aim to encourage reflection on the importance of community, and to inspire a renewed appreciation for genuine connection and shared values.

    Body of Water

    This short film explores the intricate relationship between the human body and water. When I think about water, my subconscious mind attaches to the feeling of hydration, the taste, the temperature, and the sensations on my skin and body. For this project, my goal was to capture these embodied experiences and the importance of this complex, life-sustaining substance. Through this exploration, I was compelled to focus more intently on these sensations, continuously staying present while falling in and out of a somewhat dissociative state. When floating in the water, I found it fascinating how differently the body feels; the altered sense of gravity and slowed movement creates an experience that feels almost otherworldly, as though we have access to another plane of existence.     Echoes of Mourning

    For this project, I chose to create a video centred on my partner (DJ Mourn) and his music practice. The majority of the soundtrack was composed using a field audio recorder on the day of filming. ”I like to layer various natural, textural sounds to create rhythmic patterns that form a basis for tracks. These sounds can be manipulated and arranged in a way that brings organic depth to music that is hard to replicate with other methods. Combining these with subsonic and atmospheric ambient sounds allows me to shape deep and spacious soundscapes that feel natural and cohesive without being cluttered or overwhelming”. Because layering is an essential part of his process, I chose to mimic that by using multiple layers of footage stacked on top of another. My intention was to capture his essence while withholding certain details in order to maintain a sense of mystery.
